Minister of Music and Worship
First Baptist Church of Pocahontas is currently accepting résumés for a part-time Minister of Music. We are seeking a Christ-centered, passionate individual to lead our music ministry and help facilitate meaningful worship experiences. This position includes planning and leading music for weekly services and coordinating with the pastor and worship team. Qualifications:
This person shall have had a very definite call of God to serve in the ministry of Christ and shall manifest a gift in Christian music. He or she shall be adequately educated for this ministry. This person shall be responsible to the pastor, and ultimately to the church. He or she shall work closely with other staff members in planning and coordinating the work.
Personal Qualifications:
Personal salvation experience
Doctrinally sound and believes in the inerrancy of the Bible
Self-disciplined, self-motivated, and willing to work
Task completion ability
Mature in decisions
Sets a good example in actions and appearance
General Scope:
It is the responsibility of the Minister of Music and Worship to provide leadership to the highest degree attainable in all facets of the church’s efforts to carry out the Great Commission.
General Duties as Minister of Music and Worship:
Lead the church in its weekly expression of musical worship, and lead a team of musicians in fostering a meaningful worship experience
Request, through established channels, needed resources, including time, space, equipment, personnel, literature, and budget
Alot time to meet and communicate as needed with musicians and other church members
Maintain regular communication and availability with the pastor, church secretary and other church staff
Assist the pastor in planning all worship services. Plan, under supervision of the pastor, the format, content, and music for all worship services
May be called upon to lead music in revival or special services as a part of their duties
Be available to arrange music for weddings and funerals of church members, and for special projects and other church related projects in cooperation with appropriate groups, when called upon
Supervise the maintenance of music materials; order supplies and music
Prepare, recommend, and administer the church music program budget
Provide staff leadership for the Media and Sound Committee
Vacation:
The minister of music shall be allowed four Sundays of absence for vacation each year.
