FBSM Midweek Return

Parents,

Believe me when I say, I have missed my church family dearly and I am beyond ready to see you all again soon. Since the week before spring break, I have been eager to meet with our students again in person. I'm so thankful for technology like Zoom that has helped to keep us coming together these last few months, but I cannot wait to study God's Word and worship alongside your students.

First Baptist Student Ministry will host an in-person Midweek gathering this coming Wednesday, July 15th at 6:00pm in the Fellowship Hall.
We hope that your students will be able to attend! While we are very excited about seeing your students again, we understand that not everyone will feel comfortable meeting again so soon. The FBSM Youth Zoom will still convene at 6:00pm as usual and will stream all portions of the service for students joining us from home.

To make sure everyone knows what to expect, we've prepared a schedule and a list of guidelines that will be in effect at Midweek.

Schedule:

  • 5:45pm - Doors Open

  • 6:00pm - Welcome and Game

  • 6:15pm - Message from Pastor Chase

  • 6:25pm - Small Groups

  • 6:55pm - Worship Together

  • 7:00pm - Dismiss

If your student will attend in person:

  • If your student is feeling sick or has COVID-19 Symptoms as described by the CDC, please keep them home.

  • Please take your students temperature before they arrive. If they have a fever, please keep them home.

  • Masks are required for all in attendance. Masks will be available at the front door, although you are encouraged to bring your own mask from home.

  • Seating will adhere to Social Distancing (6 ft. apart) guidelines at all times.

  • Students from the same household may sit together.

  • Hand Sanitizer stations will be available for use.

  • Please refrain from physical contact (hugs, high fives, shaking hands, etc.)

  • Small groups will meet in designated large meeting areas (Sanctuary, Fellowship Hall, Youth Room, etc) while also following social distancing guidelines.

  • Small groups will be divided as follows:

    • Sr. High Girls

    • Sr. High Guys

    • Jr. High Girls

    • Jr. High Guys

    • Students entering 7th-9th grade are considered Junior High.

    • Students entering 10th-12th grade are considered Senior High.

  • 2020 Graduates are encouraged to attend. Y'all know who you are and you better be there!

  • We will not serve a meal.

If your student is unable to attend in person:

  • Any student unable to join us on campus is encouraged to join via Zoom.

  • The Zoom call will stream all portions of the service.

  • The Zoom waiting room will  open at 5:45pm.

  • Students on the Zoom call will also be included in a small group with other students in attendance.

As we begin the exciting process of returning to a weekly, in-person meeting, please continue to pray for us, our students, Pastor Eric, our church, and our community. We also ask for patience as we walk through this difficult season together. Now is the time for the Church to work together to preach the gospel to all the people in Pocahontas and the world. We must strengthen one another, encourage one another, and pray for one another as we share these burdens together. We are brought together in Christ. I pray He remains our focus in the days and weeks to come, no matter the trial. I love you all and I can't wait to see you Wednesday!
